No. You can simply Book Now to make an appointment online for a time that suits you. Please contact your insurer for more information.
Clinical Pilates is Pilates delivered by a qualified health professional, taking into consideration your medical condition, injury and recovery pathway. It is different to general Pilates, which is the base method of exercise that focuses on stability and motor control while building strength.
Pilates was founded by Joseph Pilates and is adopted around the world to optimise body conditioning for every body shape and ability. Everyone can Pilates and Clinical Pilates is uniquely tailored to you. Here at InjuryWise, Clinical Pilates is delivered only by fully qualified and registered Physiotherapists.
No. Clinical Pilates can be delivered on an ad-hoc basis and you can choose to do one session or many! When your injury has recovered sufficiently for you to attend mainstream Pilates classes, your physiotherapist will advise you and you may elect to continue your injury prevention through a regular Pilates membership.
Please wear loose but comfortable clothing that allows the physio to work on your affected body area easily. If you have a leg or hip injury, we recommend wearing loose fitting shorts that allow the physio to examine the area modestly. You may need to partially undress for treatment, however the physio will provide you with privacy and appropriate coverage for modesty.
Not always. If the physio is concerned about a particular injury, they will discuss this with you and liaise with your treating doctor to arrange appropriate imaging (X-ray, ultrasound, CT scan or MRI) to assist with correct diagnosis and safe treatment. You can choose whether or not you want to proceed with further imaging.
Our fees for general physiotherapy are set by the Health Clinic where we are based. Click on the links below for billing information relevant to our current clinics. If you have an entitlement for reimbursements from Medicare, NDIS, WorkCover or your CTP insurer, please contact your insurer to understand your out of pocket costs.
Your physio can provide you with a brief letter to confirm that you have attended for treatment of a personal injury at a particular date and time. We can also confirm what support you require during your recovery period and what tasks may be helpful or detrimental to your recovery. These letters can be provided to employers for the purpose of confirming your reason for absence, however many employers still require medical certificates to be issued by your GP. Please check with your employer on what is required according to their company policies.
Unfortunately, no. For all WorkCover clients, we require payment in full on the day of service. If you have an accepted claim for Workers' Compensation though, you can send a copy of your receipt to WorkCover Qld and they will reimburse you for approved services. The rates we charge our WorkCover clients are in accordance with WorkCover Qld's Table of Costs, so there will be no gap or out-of-pocket expenses, once WorkCover have reimbursed you. For more information on the Table of Costs, please go to our Links page below.
We will only talk with your employer with your consent. In some situations, your injury may put you at risk of further harm if you return to work without support. It can be helpful for your physio to work with you and your employer to identify safe tasks and activities to help you recover quicker at work. There is lots of evidence to support the health benefits of work and studies have shown that those that return to work quickly in a supported recovery program, recover better and faster with a greater durability.
